Hello everybody. First things first, wishing you all a very happy new year. We hope you had an amazing Christmas and a very good new year with your family and friends.
Speaking of the new year, it goes without saying that a lot of us make promises to ourselves that this year will be the year for change and transformation; in short words – the “good old” new year resolutions.
New year resolutions are fun at first but it is extremely hard to maintain………. However, it is not impossible if you really commit to it. So here are our top 10 new year resolutions, pick one of the following worthy resolutions, and stick with it.
Lose weight/Get Fit
I guess you could say that this is one of the most popular new year resolutions and it is one of the hardest to commit to. Everyone needs to understand that this can’t be achieved overnight, so it would be good to have someone there with you on a regular basis to help you achieve you goals. The best way is to work out with a family member or a friend, so you can motivate each other.
Learn something new
You only live one life so why not try and learn something new? Whether it is a language, an instrument, a new recipe or anything you have always wanted to pick up. Trust me – you will find education to be one of the easiest, most motivating New Year’s resolutions to keep. Make sure that 2015 will be the year you get that check box ticked.
Stop listening to haters
In our lives, there are people who will always have different views and who do not have our best interests at heart. Unfortunately, sometimes these individuals are the people closest to us. It is very important to recognize when we just need to tune someone out. Make an effort not to engage. Don’t open your heart to anyone who isn’t on your team.
Eat Healthier
By eating healthy, I don’t mean starve yourself but actually focus on the things you are putting inside your body because remember, you are what you eat. So instead indulging in a chocolate cake why not get a Greek yogurt with fruits and honey? It is a definite guilt-free healthy snack. Also, make sure you add more greens to your diet – vegetables and fruits are extremely good for you. You can still enjoy all the good things in life but just make sure you choose what’s good for your body.
Stop Being So Negative
The world is often a mirror image of the way you’re feeling, and if you’re one to always point out the negatives in life you probably aren’t having as good of a time as you should. It’s amazing how things start to get better once you start thinking more positively, but often we wait for situations to improve before changing our state of mind. It doesn’t work that way! Go on, give it a try and within a short time you’ll see the proof.
Travel More
There are so many places in the world to explore and see – why not pick a place that you have always wanted to visit and go there this year? It is amazing when you discover a new surrounding, culture and tradition. You can learn so much from visiting a new place.
Save Money
Saving is difficult, but if you decide to save a certain portion of your paycheck, it can be easier if you arrange for automatic deposit of that portion into a savings account. Eventually, you will get used to your adjusted paycheck and will not even think about the amount that’s gone into your savings. Overtime, you would have a chunk of money saved up which will definitely benefit you in the future.
Spend more time with loved ones
Nothing is more rewarding than spending quality time with your family and friends. Make it a point to spend some valuable time with them. It could be a promise to have Sunday dinners together every week or even a weekly meet up with friends at a pub.
Go back to school
You are never too old to go back to school. Heading back into the classroom can help revamp your career, introduce you to new friends, and even boost your understanding.
Help Others

Nothing is more satisfying and worthwhile than helping others and seeing a smile on their face. Seeing other people happy makes you even more happier so why not make this year about helping others. Whether you choose to spend time helping out at your local library, mentoring a child, or even donating clothes or things that you no longer need, there are many nonprofit volunteer organizations that could really use your help.
So there you have it, our top 10 new year’s resolution – we hope you do decide on one of these or maybe a few and stick to it. Some of them are quite easy to commit to and some you need a bit of motivation 🙂
